📢Benalmádena demands new schools now! 📢

Last Wednesday, March 12, Benalmádena’s educational community, together with the AMPAs and unions, took to the streets of Arroyo de la Miel to demand the urgent construction of new schools and a quality public education.

Since 2008, the municipality has grown considerably, but the school infrastructure has still not been expanded, leading to overcrowded classrooms and the installation of inadequate prefabricated units. In addition, educational resources remain insufficient, particularly affecting children with special needs (ACNEAE).

Although the Junta de Andalucía approved the construction of a primary school and a secondary school, these projects have still not been carried out. This has forced existing schools to eliminate essential spaces, such as laboratories, music and technology classrooms, or assembly halls, affecting the quality of education and the well-being of the students.

The educational community demands that the works for the CEIP and IES be put out to tender immediately, and that the construction of a new secondary school with a Bachillerato program be considered, since the municipality only has three.

⚠️ The fight for a quality public education goes on._ No to privatization!_ ⚠️
