Demonstration - More schools in Benalmádena

Benalmádena, March 12, 2025 — The educational community of Benalmádena will take to the streets this Wednesday with a demonstration in defense of public education. The gathering will take place on Avenida de la Estación at 18:00 and aims to highlight the concern over cuts in education budgets and the lack of resources in schools.

The main reason for the protest is the 45% cut in education budgets, which has had a negative impact on the quality of teaching. Among the demands of the organizers are the construction of more schools to cope with the increase in the number of students and improve learning conditions.

Greater support is also demanded for students with specific educational support needs (NEAE), through increased resources, the creation of new specialist classrooms and a reduction in the student-teacher ratio for more personalized attention.

Other key points of the demonstration include the recovery of specialist classrooms, the reduction of bureaucracy in teaching work so that teachers can focus on teaching, an increase in the teaching staff and an expansion of the education budget to reach 7% of GDP.

Likewise, they call for faster replacement of Administrative and Service Staff (PAS) to guarantee the proper functioning of schools.

The organizers have called on the entire educational community and citizens to join this mobilization, with the aim of demanding a quality, inclusive public education with the necessary resources to meet the needs of students and teachers.
